Our new CD “All In The Mix “ is our 5th album recording, and is now available on all streaming platforms. The title, “All In the Mix” , refers to the acceptance of the amazing, and sometimes unexpected mix of people, music, struggles, places, difficulties and joys of life! The experience of harmony which emerged in the midst of our creative collaborations in our recording sessions, is directly related to that acceptance. The depth of my understanding of this journey, is especially expressed in the poignant song, The Road by Sonya Rae Taylor. Our recordings speak to urgent concerns Arctic Meltdown Blues, offer an insight into our inner spiritual journey, High Flying Bird, The Real Me, and, Here’s To Life, and are stylistically varied, providing a rich ground for my abilities as an interpreter of song. In an effort to touch the listener, I especially loved exploring the arrangements highlighting the lyrics, and our award winning instrumentalists. The roster of songs presents new interpretations of covers as well as originals from masterful song writers. Two songs, Seek and Ye Shall Find, and Whole Again, are recorded in tribute to Gail Wynters, an amazing artist and friend who we recently lost.
I have always chosen and been blessed to work with musicians who bring their best creative self to our recording sessions here in Boston, with so many who were my colleagues at Berklee College of Music. They are supremely generous, individualistic artists who bring joy and a standard of excellence that is inspirational to our sessions. To name a few: Utar Artun, Gen Yoshimura, Dave Clark, Sonya Rae Taylor, Ryan Taylor, Mark Walker, Oscar Stagnaro, Yoron Israel, Daniel Ian Smith , Alex Brown, Marty Walsh, Dave Weigert, Fernando Hurego,
Effe Volkan, Bruce Bears, Mark Texierra, Jesse Williams, and so many more. My husband Jack Perricone, first Chair of Songwriting at Berklee, has collaborated with me on all our 5 releases. I usually have two or three different ensembles depending on the genre/styles/ of our arrangements. A special note of gratitude goes to Ken Kanavos, my co-producer at Newbury Media, and to the arrangers Utar Artun, and Jack Perricone whose patience, tireless input, and enthusiasm were essential for the recordings and my interpretations. I plan on concertizing, doing more videos with the release of this album.
